What if we apply technology to reinvent the possibilities of the reality that surrounds us? This course brings this mentality to the world of fashion, experimenting with new production processes and materials, Together, we search for inspiration to reinvigorate a design discipline that is culturally profound, and yet trapped inside of a conservative industry.

This workshop explores alternatives using three-dimensional scanning with Kinect, and modeling in Rhinoceros, and parametric design in Grasshopper as the primary tools We encourage flexibility in concept through three-dimensional volumetric studies and subdivision. With this process of algorithmic thinking, the participants develop a garment by manipulating its surface through its mutations and variations, and finally producing it with 3D printing using PLA and NinjaFlex.
